Sizing

When purchasing a new pair of skates, it's important to choose the correct size.

Skates should fit like a pair of shoes, so you should allow between 1/4" and 1/2", depending on whether your foot is still growing.

Pay special attention to the sizes that are available in each model. Some skates are available in mens AND ladies sizes, but some are only available in mens OR ladies sizes.

Ladies generally go down one size when converting to mens - and conversely, men generally go up one size when converting to ladies sizes. Boys and girls sizes are usually about the same size in length (up to size 4), but boys shoes are a little wider.

Zappos has some handy shoe size comparison charts that may help you compare different sizing. Please keep in mind that this chart was not created for skates and that different shoes/skates use different lasts (the form of the shoe).

When available, we have provided as much information as possible for the sizing of each individual model. Click on the "Sizing" tab on the product details page. ***Sizing information is offered as a courtesy. We cannot guarantee individual fit, and final choice is always your decision.***

If a skate is listed as not returnable, we strongly recommend ordering a boot for sizing before mounting the boot. {$30 covers round trip shipping.}

Also, be sure your skates fit before you skate in them.

Email us for Sizing Help: Include the length of your longest foot in your email, and your current shoe size. Please refer to the Sizing Guidelines for the skate that you are interested in before emailing us. Include your telephone number, please.

Another sizing tip: A Dr Scholls gel insole takes up 1/2 shoe size.
